Kirchliche Nachrichten.
1.

Bruder in Christo,
A. W. Bergt, P.

at the address: Schäfer u. Korabi, Philadelphia, Pa., it is to be obtained. Church News.
1.
On the 18th Sunday after Trinity, the 25th of September a. c., Mr. Candidate Heinrich Bauer of Nürnberg, hitherto a pupil of the theological seminary at Fort Wayne, was ordained, by commission, in the midst of his congregation by the undersigned, under pledge to all the symbols of our Church, after he had passed the prescribed examination and had received a regular call from the German Evangelical Lutheran St. Emanuel's Congregation at Bluegrass, Warrick Co., Ia.
Pastor Saupert, who acted as assistant, preached on Acts 20, 28—32: "How the evangelical ministry of preaching becomes an office of blessing."
The pleasant weather heightened the joy of this day greatly, in that it brought sympathizing fellow-believers in numbers from Evansville, as well as from my Trinity congregation and St. Stephen's congregation at Warrenton. A great field of labor, which for nearly a decade had to be tilled by One laborer of our body, has in less than a year made two fellow-laborers necessary, and, God be thanked! holds out prospects of new needs of the kind, so that we may with joy raise the complaint: "The harvest is great; but the laborers are few."
The dear congregation, which had maintained itself laboriously in the struggles against bottomless unbelief and lamentable enthusiasm, greeted this festive day with great joy.
May the Chief Shepherd of His sheep, our dear Lord Jesus Christ, preserve, protect and bless them further through His grace, and set the dear brother in office to them for great blessing, whose address is:
Rev. Heinrich Bauer,
Evansville, Ia.
A. Weyel, Pastor,
2.
Pastor Bilz having received a call from the German Ev. Lutheran congregation at Cumberland, Md., and having accepted the same with the consent of his former congregation at Dissen, Perry Co., Mo., entered upon his new office on the 20th Sunday after the Feast of the holy Trinity.
The address of the dear brother is:
Rev. Julius Biltz,
Cumberland, Md.
Reverend Mr. President!
Pastor Adam Detzer at Defiance, Defiance Co., Ohio, having received a regular call from an ev. luth. congregation 7 miles from Defiance, to serve it with Word and Sacrament, and having accepted this call, was, by order of the Vice-President, on the 16th Sunday after Trinity solemnly introduced into this new congregation by Pastor A. W. Bergt of Williams Co., O.
May the Shepherd and Bishop, our Lord Jesus Christ, also pasture this flock, and richly bless the labor of our dear brother.
I greet you heartily and wish you God's grace and rich blessing. I remain
Your brother in Christ,
united with you in the Lord,
A. W. Bergt, P.
